The Indian Health Services (IHS) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that is responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska natives. The IHS operates a network of hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities that serve eligible Native American individuals and tribes.
